Tiny Little Amp

I was looking for small amp wich I could easily carry to places. I went to Tampere to test some small amps. Store was DLX music store. There was 2 options Roland microcube and Vox DA-5. I liked the DA-5 more and wanted to try something different since I already had Cube 30 from Roland. So I bought Vox da-5. Cheap ~100€ for it. Sound is awesome. And I really like it when using some good quality phones.

I like to use it for recording guitar too. It is very good amplifier. I can still make it sound more "tube" (=warm) in the DAW so that's why I like to work it simple nowadays. There is many more things to consider than just the huge tube sound and explosive distortion in a particular song. Still the distortion is decent to me.

VOX DA-5

I want to add some value to you if you are guitar player yourself. There is a ton of free guitar amp sims. Make yourself a favor and test/try Ignite Amps Emissary amplifier sim. That quality to me is preeeeeetty darn good. Just use impulse response to make it realistic sounding. I add links to download pages here:

Ignite Amps Emissary
NadIR Stereo Cabinet Impulse Response

Basically you can choose what type of microphone you are using with its impulse. It gives it that realistic mic'd tone. It's really nice tool to play with.

BTW Just quickly wanted to add and mention that I bought the Amplitube package and it has some seriously good amplifiers, effects and all of these impulse stuff built in. I think any guitarist should check them out! HERE IS LINK! Amplitube Homepage

Effect Pedals:

There is some DIY effect board. The effects are attached there with cable ties. So pretty self-explanatory picture below these texts there.
